From 16 to 19 of May Murano will be at the apex with “The glass path – Il percorso del vetro”, the 2018 edition of the Glass Art Society’s conference.
What is the GAS Conference?
For four days, from Wednesday 16th to Saturday 19th may, the lagoon island – already famous worldwide thank to the artistic production of glass – will host the most important event at global level tied to such extraordinary matter. The Glass Art Society is a cultural no-profit association founded in 1971, based in US but operating worldwide. Counting 2459 members from different sectors on glass matter: artists, artisans, entrepreneurs, art critics, professors and students, technicians, and passionate followers. From decades, it carries on the aim of cultivating excellences and promoting the work and the research focused on this precious and manifold material. It organizes one exhibition per year – that is, the GAS Conference – and for the first time from the birth of the association this important appointment, probably the most important in the field, will be framed within the Murano island.The participants of the 2018 GAS Conference “The glass path – Il percorso del vetro” are estimated to be around 1800. The enter ticket to assist at the various events will cost 400$, roughly 320€, and for such occasion, the association have not take care about expenditure for the setting up and updating of the spaces where the manifestation will take place. The area all around the church of San Pietro Martire will be particularly rich in events, since in the near green area will be set up a large stage on which will be put a real functioning furnace in front of which will be posed a flight of stairs able to give place to 800 viewers during each demonstration.
In sum, even if 2018 GAS Conference is written as such, it means an unmissable appointment which from 16th to 19th of May will take the Murano island again on the apex of the glass world!
